"..Then you can follow the winding staircase up to the attic. It is up here, in the seamstress chambers, in the school hall and in the 1930-style kitchen that you will come in touch with the life and history ofthe settlers.
You can also go downstairs to the Silver Hall and Mujttalus, where you can find out about the everyday life and festivities of the Sami. In the stone vault of the Silver Hall you will find the largest collection of its kind of Sami silver. Collars and belts, jugs, mugs and spoons gleam like stars in the arctic winter night.
Mujttalus, on the other hand, gives us an insight into the everyday life. Work done by the men and women and how the children played.
In Traces the message from thousands of years ago is mediated. Stories about the life, insight and experiences of the hunters and fishermen who found their way here after the inland ice drew back. The magnificence in the design and function in all the objects shows skilfulness and feeling for beauty."
